One Supplier
The traditional electronics supply chain fragments production across three or more vendors — a PCB fabricator, a component distributor, and an assembly house — each with their own lead times, quality standards, and communication channels. A quality issue at any step becomes a finger-pointing exercise. Superb Automation's one-stop service consolidates PCB fabrication, component procurement, SMT assembly, and functional test under a single production management system. The customer delivers Gerber files, BOM, assembly drawings, and test specification. We handle the rest. When an issue is found — a DFM flag on a BGA pad, a component lead-time delay, a solder joint void — it is resolved internally, without the customer mediating between three suppliers.
Service Flow
1. PCB Fabrication — In-House
Multi-layer PCB fabrication from customer Gerber files. 4–16+ layers, 4/4 mil trace/space, ENIG surface finish. Symmetrical lamination with X-ray layer-shift verification. Flying-probe full-netlist test on every board. 8-module free DFM inspection before CAM release.
2. Component Procurement — AVL-Controlled
Components sourced from the customer's approved vendor list only. No substitutions without documented customer approval. Lot traceability from reel to board serial number. Long-lead-time components identified during BOM review — procurement initiated before PCB fabrication completes to eliminate supplier-related schedule gaps.
3. SMT Assembly — Class 2 or Class 3
Automated SMT line: solder paste printer with SPI (solder paste inspection), high-speed pick-and-place, 10-zone reflow with per-board thermal profiling. IPC-A-610 Class 2 standard; Class 3 available for medical, aerospace, and high-reliability applications. AOI 100% inspection. X-ray for BGA, QFN, and leadless package joints.
4. Conformal Coating — Optional
Acrylic, silicone, urethane, or parylene coating per customer specification. Selective application with connector and test-point masking. Thickness verified by measurement. Applied after assembly and test — boards pass functional test before coating.
5. Functional Test — Per Customer Specification
Custom functional test fixture built from the customer's test protocol. Every assembled board is tested through all operating modes. Test results logged per serial number and delivered with the batch. Failed boards are diagnosed to component level and reworked or quarantined per the customer's disposition instruction.
6. Delivery — Programmed, Tested, Traceable
Assembled, tested, and programmed PCBA delivered in ESD-safe packaging. Batch record includes: fabrication lot, component lot traceability, SMT process parameters, AOI/X-ray reports, functional test results, and programming log. One batch record per order — audit-ready.
Engagement Models
| Turnkey | Superb Automation handles PCB fabrication, component procurement, assembly, and test. The customer provides Gerber + BOM + assembly drawings + test specification. One purchase order, one delivery. |
| Partial Turnkey | Customer supplies long-lead-time or proprietary components. Superb Automation procures the balance of the BOM and handles PCB fabrication, assembly, and test. Consigned components are inspected at receiving and integrated into the production flow. |
| Consignment Assembly | Customer supplies all components and PCBs. Superb Automation provides assembly and test only. Components are lot-tracked through the assembly process. This model is used when the customer has established component supply agreements and wants assembly-only service. |
Why One-Stop from Superb Automation
Single point of accountability: PCB quality, component authenticity, assembly workmanship, and test results — all managed by one team. No supplier handoffs, no finger-pointing, no email chains between three vendors.
Concurrent scheduling: Component procurement begins during PCB fabrication. Long-lead-time parts are identified and ordered early. The assembly line is scheduled as soon as PCB yield is confirmed — no gap between fabrication finish and assembly start.
Build-to-print throughout: Customer Gerber, BOM, AVL, assembly drawings, and test specification control every step. No unauthorized substitutions, no unreviewed process changes.
One batch record: Fabrication lot, component traceability, SMT parameters, inspection images, test results, and programming log — one file per order. Audit-ready.
In-house fabrication + assembly: PCB fabrication and SMT assembly under one roof. A DFM flag during PCB CAM review is communicated to the assembly team before the first panel is fabricated — not after the boards arrive at a separate assembly house.
